In this week’s true crime documentary episode of Love and Heartbreak to Homicide, we delve into an unsettling case of domestic violence that raises many questions. The story centers around 78-year-old Walter Lee Davis, who assaulted his wife, Annie Davis, over something as trivial as wanting to drive their car.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the living room in disarray, indicating a struggle. Annie had multiple injuries, including cuts on her nose and left eye, and a contusion on the back of her head. She was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation. The police arrested Walter, who refused to cooperate and had dried blood on his leg but no other injuries. The evidence, including the 911 call recording, was enough to take him into custody.
The episode raises critical questions about the root causes of Walter’s violent outburst. Could it be the onset of Alzheimer’s or dementia, conditions known to sometimes trigger aggressive behavior in elderly individuals? Or was this an isolated incident in an otherwise non-violent history, as Walter had no prior criminal or traffic records?
Poll Question:
Do you believe that domestic violence incidents should result in mandatory counseling and intervention programs for both the victim and the perpetrator?
In addition to the main story, Ky revisits a previous episode involving Alexander Roque, who confessed to killing his girlfriend and drove to the police station with her body in the car. This case also sparked debate among listeners about whether people who confess to violent crimes should receive reduced sentences as part of a plea deal.

The episode wraps up with another chilling case that started in New York but ended in Florida. This case involved the brutal murder of 64-year-old Rosario Prestigiacomo, who was found in a pool of his own blood. The investigation went cold until forensic genetic genealogy and the help of Homeland Security led to the arrest of Rosario’s nephew, Anthony Scalici, in Boynton Beach, Florida.
This case used forensic genetic genealogy just like in our previous case of an innocent man who was imprisoned for 20 years, the case of Christopher Tapp
Tune in to this week’s episode to explore these cases in-depth and join the conversation on how we can better address domestic violence in our communities.
