Florida Man Friday | Man Beat Girlfriend’s Baby to Death, Blamed Puppies | Bobby Frank Curry Jr

This week’s episode of Florida Man Friday is a heartbreaking dive into a very tragic case. We unravel the story of a young man, Bobby Frank Curry Jr., who waited nearly two hours to call 911 while a toddler, Ezekiel Cotto St. Fleur, lay dying from severe injuries.

On March 5, 2024, police responded to a distressing call about an unresponsive child in Lakeland, Florida. When they arrived, they found 23-month-old Ezekiel lying on the bathroom floor, not breathing and without a pulse. Despite the first responders’ best efforts, Ezekiel’s injuries were so severe that he had to be transferred to Tampa General Hospital, where he was admitted to the ICU in critical condition. Tragically, Ezekiel succumbed to his injuries just three days later.

The investigation quickly turned to Bobby Frank Curry Jr., the boyfriend of Ezekiel’s mother, who was babysitting at the time. Bobby’s account of events was riddled with inconsistencies. He claimed that the toddler had fallen after being jumped on by the family’s puppies, but medical professionals found that the injuries were more consistent with physical abuse. The autopsy confirmed that Ezekiel had died from blunt force injuries to the head, and his death was ruled a homicide.

One of the most shocking aspects of this case is Bobby’s response—or lack thereof—to the emergency. Instead of calling 911 immediately, he chose to message Ezekiel’s mother on Instagram, asking if a child could go into cardiac arrest. For nearly two hours, they exchanged 67 messages while Ezekiel’s condition deteriorated. It wasn’t until Ezekiel’s mother insisted that Bobby finally called 911, but by then, it was too late.

This episode raises critical questions about how we choose the people we trust with our children’s lives and the importance of immediate action in emergencies. Host Ky doesn’t hold back in expressing frustration and disbelief at the decisions made by both Bobby and Ezekiel’s mother, urging listeners to learn from this tragedy to prevent future incidents.
