On Saturday, June 22, 2024, 24-year-old Reagan Anderson was reportedly arrested for keying Chandler Kuhbander’s car while he was on a date with another woman.
The two Hinesville, Georgia firefighters, who worked together at Liberty County Fire Services, had dated for seven years, since they were in high school. They’d recently broken up due to a “toxic” relationship and gone their separate ways.
On that Saturday, Chandler had been at an Olive Garden when Reagan walked in and confronted him. After, she went outside and keyed his car.
According to Chandler’s mother, Jane Kuhbander, Reagan posted bond after being charged with second-degree criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.

Two days later, on Monday, June 24, Reagan and Chandler were last seen together. Security cameras captured footage of them in Reagan’s car in the parking lot outside Chandler’s gym.
“At 11:40 my son walks out of the building and he looks very comfortable, like he just had his workout. He doesn’t look rushed as he walks through the parking lot. After that, we don’t see him again.”
As days passed without any sign of the couple, Chandler’s mother is quoted as saying,
“You don’t want to be in this position. And when you see it on television, I can see how they feel. Then it hits you, like, I am that person. I do feel that way. This is terrifying and you have no answers.”
On the morning of his disappearance, Jane spoke with Chandler for the last time,
“He was telling me she was blowing up his phone, and he said that she had threatened that she was going to commit suicide. And, it’s not the first time that she’s done it.”
During the investigation, police went to Reagan’s house where they found the door unlocked and a note indicating that she might have wanted to hurt herself.
While waiting on word about her son, Jane wrote on her Facebook page that Chandler might have been “coerced” by Raegan.
“he is believed to not be with her willingly.”
On Sunday, June 30, the search came to a heartbreaking end. The bodies of Reagan and Chandler were found in Cocke County, Tennessee, inside of Reagan’s car. Hinesville Police Chief Tracey Howard stated,
“I don’t believe that the investigation in any way is yielding an idea that whatever happened involved anybody else other than the two that were found.”
As of now, details surrounding the discovery of their bodies, the vehicle, and the events leading to their deaths remain undisclosed. Hinesville Police have stated that investigators in Tennessee are reviewing the crime scene, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
Will we ever know what happened to Reagan and Chandler?
As the investigation continues, friends, family, and colleagues of Reagan and Chandler are left with the unanswered questions surrounding their untimely deaths.
